New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills (-15.5, O/U 40.5 – PROLINE +) – Sunday, Jan. 9

Canada’s adopted NFL team, the Buffalo Bills (10-6), have plenty to play for Sunday in their regular-season finale against the lowly New York Jets (4-12). Buffalo, which has already solidified a playoff berth, has a chance to win the AFC East for the second straight season, something that hasn’t been done since the team won four straight division titles from 1988 to 1991. The Bills can clinch simply with a win over the Jets, a New England Patriots loss to the Miami Dolphins, or if they and the Patriots both tie their respective games this Sunday.

The Bills steamrolled the Jets, 45-17, as 13.5-point favorites at MetLife Stadium back in Week 10, and oddsmakers are heavily siding with the Bills (-15.5) again this time around with home-field advantage in at least the first round of the playoffs on the line. Buffalo also has the opportunity to improve its position all the way to the AFC’s No. 2 seed, but would need a win Sunday and a ton of help in order to do so.

Buffalo is listed at +700 to win the Super Bowl in PROLINE +’s NFL outright odds, behind Kansas City (+500), and Green Bay (+350).

Anna Sainsbury Returns as CEO of GeoComply

Anna Sainsbury is stepping back into the role of CEO of GeoComply, the British Columbia-based company announced in a press release.

Sainsbury, the chairman of GeoComply, previously served as CEO for seven years when she co-founded the company in 2011 and will succeed David Briggs, who served a four-year term in the role and grew company revenues by over 1,500% in that span. Briggs will move to a new role as director of of the company and focus on special projects.

Sainsbury sits on the board of the American Gaming Association and has been featured in The Most Influential Women list of women in gaming and business.

GeoComply provides fraud prevention and cybersecurity solutions that detect location fraud and help verify a user’s true digital identity. Some of its customers in the U.S. gaming industry include DraftKings, FanDuel and MGM.

Issues with PROLINE + platform?

One bettor wagering with Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporations’s PROLINE + sports betting platform is reporting some serious limit issues and technical difficulties:

OLG communications responded to Sports Handle’s inquiry and reported no issues with the OLG.ca bank withdrawal process, except for the odd backlog after an especially large lottery jackpot, as they had in mid-December. OLG wouldn’t speak about the specific incident, but did reiterate that if it doesn’t have all the correct banking information from the customer in order to pay a prize, it does take longer to process a payout.

PROLINE + also has the following policy on wager limits:

Betting limits for PROLINE+ are dependent on a number of factors including but not limited to event type, current betting activity and liability limits. The absolute maximum amount that can be wagered on any one PROLINE+ bet is $20,000 (CAD), but some bets at this value may not be accepted for the previously mentioned reasons. At times you may experience an error message when attempting to place a bet as a result of a bet limit being in place for any of these reasons.

Additionally, the PROLINE+ Game Conditions state that no individual transaction that would result in a payout greater than $600,000 will be accepted. If you attempt to place a bet that would exceed this limitation, the bet amount on your betslip will automatically be adjusted down to an amount that would allow the bet to be placed.

PROLINE + is the only current legal sports betting option in the province of Ontario and is regulated by the government-owned OLG.

Rivalry confirms Ontario license application

Rivalry Corporation, an internationally regulated sports betting and media company, confirmed its interest in the Ontario iGaming and sports betting market in a letter to shareholders Tuesday. Rivalry has submitted an application to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to operate in the province. The AGCO is currently reviewing dozens of applications from private operators ahead of the projected launch of the open market in Q1 of 2022.

Rivalry reported revenue increases of 600% year-over-year to $8.9 million and began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Oct. 2021. The company has also been granted a license to operate in Australia. Other known applicants for an Ontario gaming license include DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, theScore Bet, Caesars, PointsBet, BetRivers, and others.
